Are you often stressed? Does it blocks you or slows you down?
In our modern life we are often overloaded and faced with many stressful situations
In this workshop you will learn quick and effective strategies to help dealing with stress and anxiety.
Those techniques can be used ‘on the fly’, directly before or when are facing the stressful event, in order to help you to cope better and calm down.
We will start with a short scientific review discussing evidence about the physiology of stress response.
I will then introduce distinct kinds of relaxation methods. Those methods are based on mastering breath (pranayama) and meditation. We will also look on body posture and learn several postures (asanas) designed specifically to help relax and energize. Each method will be explained and practiced.
By the end of the workshop you would own a toolbox of diverse stress-relief techniques and gain confidence in your own ability to cope with stressful situations hence reducing internal stress. The variety of methods ensures that you will find something that works for you.
A detailed written summary and a summary-card will be provided.
Dr. Ruth Adam (Ruthi) is a neuroscientist and a yoga teacher (500 hours according Yoga Alliance). She holds a master degree in Cognitive Science and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience. She was the lead investigator in research projects examining attention and emotion processing in the brain at the Max-Planck-Institute, University of Heidelberg and the University Hospital of Munich (LMU). She teaches active-yet-grounding vinyasa-flow as well as relaxation and stress-release classes, all with humor and joy. She is committed to using scientific knowledge to better understand the practice of yoga.
This workshop will be taught in English. Additional instruction in German as needed.
