Ashtanga Yoga is a traditional, dynamic form of yoga. While many of the asanas (postures) are the same as those found in other forms of yoga, in Ashtanga, they are joined together through vinyasa or specific steps in which breath and movement are synchronized. As a result the asanas are practiced in a fluid sequence, resulting in increased internal heat and purifying sweat, which in turn help to detoxify the body. Other benefits include a strong body, peaceful mind and a calm soul.
Practice, practice, practice……. And everything is coming. Sri K. Pattabhi Jois

Mysore is the traditional self practice form of Ashtanga Yoga. During a Mysore class, students receive one-on-one assistance in the form of adjustments and advice from the teacher–just like a private lesson. Through the Mysore practice, students are able to develop a self-practice, within their own breath rhythm, enabling them to decide tempo and intensity, as the best preparation for their own yoga practice at home.
Mysore is perfect for both beginners and those with more yoga experience. Taught in both English and German.
Important: For students with little or no previous experience in Ashtanga it is strongly recommended that they attend the Ashtanga Basic classes on Monday and / or Thursday evening, or the Mysore class on Thursday morning, before attending the Mysore class on Tuesday evening. Thank you!

Vinyasa Flow is a physically, dynamic from of yoga, in which the breath is used to join various yoga postures (asanas) together in a flowing sequence. Through this practice of yoga, we strengthen our muscles, and improve endurance, balance and flexibility.
Yin Yoga is a slow and meditative form of yoga, in which the Asanas (postures) are held for a long period of time (any where between 3-5 minutes.) Most of the Asanas are practiced in either sitting or reclining position and focus on the area of the body between the chest and knees. By holding the Asanas for a long period of time during which the muscles are kept relaxed, one is able to work on the body at a deep level, affecting the meridian system and energy flow within the body. Tendons and joints are also stretched, bringing more flexibility for more Yang oriented forms of yoga, such as Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga Flow. Yin Yogis are recommended to bring warm clothing and socks to class:-)
Yin and Yang yoga fuses two styles of yoga into one practice, bringing together the benefits of slower movements with more dynamic sequences to create harmony within the entire body.
“The practice of yin/yang yoga helps us learn about stillness in movement and the flow in stillness.” – Sarah Powers
The class starts with a Yin practice, holding poses passively for longer periods of time to work into the deep connective tissues of the body, leaving you feeling calm and grounded. It is then followed by a Yang practice, where more dynamic movements are introduced, working on the muscles, blood circulation, strength, stamina and flexibility, and leaving you feeling strong and energized, ready to tackle the day ahead. Through opening up these channels in our bodies, we allow our energy to flow to every part of our body – joints, muscles and organs.
For a balanced practice, we need both elements of Yin and Yang yoga. This class will leave you feeling refreshed, grounded, calm and energized.
This course is perfect for beginners, as well as those wishing to refine their yoga practice. The course includes the basic foundation elements of Hatha-Yoga: Asanas (physical postures), Pranayama (breathing exercises ) and yoga philosophy.
A condensed Ashtanga-inspired yoga practice with active asana (postures) and relaxing pranayama (breathing exercises) designed to fit into a one-hour lunch break. Can help you to feel rejuvenated and ready to face the rest of your day. No prior experience required.
